How to Cancel Your MerchantFlow Subscription

MerchantFlow subscription cancellation must be handled by the workspace owner. The cancellation process differs depending on whether your workspace uses Stripe billing or Shopify billing, and you can choose between immediate cancellation or end-of-period access.

How to Cancel a Stripe-Billed Workspace

For standard web workspaces, cancellation is handled from Settings > Billing.

Step-by-Step Cancel Flow

  1. Open Settings > Billing
  2. Click Cancel Subscription
  3. Choose one of the two cancel timing options
  4. Select a required cancellation reason
  5. Optionally leave additional feedback
  6. Confirm the cancellation

This keeps the workspace active until the current period end date.

After this choice:

  • MerchantFlow marks the subscription as canceling
  • The billing page shows the end date
  • The owner can still use the workspace until that date
  • The billing page offers a reactivation path before the period ends

Cancel Immediately

This ends access right away.

Important detail:

  • The current product states that no refund is issued for unused time on immediate cancellation

How to Cancel a Shopify-Billed Workspace

For Shopify App Store installs, the billing relationship is managed through Shopify.

MerchantFlow does not expose the same Stripe cancellation modal for Shopify-billed tenants. If the workspace is billed by Shopify, use the Shopify-managed subscription path.

What to Review Before Cancelling

Review:

  • Which billing provider the tenant uses
  • Whether teammates still need access to exported reports or billing records
  • Whether the workspace is in demo mode, trial, or an active paid state

You should also decide whether you want:

  • Immediate access removal
  • Access through the end of the current billing period

What Happens After Cancelling

Expected behavior depends on the cancel type:

  • End of period - access remains until the stored billing end date
  • Immediate - access stops immediately

If you only want to stop renewal, use the end-of-period option rather than the immediate one.
