Live Updates & Integration Health
Live Updates in MerchantFlow is the real-time monitoring system that shows your data freshness, sync status, and integration health through the Live indicator in the dashboard header. It tells you whether your analytics data is current and all connected platforms are syncing normally.
What Is the Live Indicator?
The Live indicator is a status badge in your dashboard header that provides an at-a-glance view of your data pipeline health. It shows:
- The most recent successful sync time
- Whether a background sync request is being submitted
- Whether the integration health panel is open
When the indicator shows a recent timestamp, your dashboard data reflects current performance. If the timestamp is older than expected, you may need to investigate.
How to Use the Integration Health Dropdown
Click the Live indicator to open the Integration Health dropdown panel.
That panel shows:
- Connected providers - All platforms linked to your MerchantFlow workspace
- Health status for each provider - Whether each integration is syncing normally
- Recent sync timing - When each provider last synced successfully
- Quick access to Sync All Integrations - Trigger a manual sync for all providers
- Link to Settings > Integrations - Manage and configure connections
What Counts as "Live" Data?
"Live" in MerchantFlow means:
- Background sync jobs are running normally
- The workspace is not obviously stale
- Integrations are healthy or at least reporting their current warning state
It does not guarantee zero-latency provider reporting. Some platforms still have upstream delays. For example, Google Analytics data can take 24-48 hours to process, and Search Console data may lag by 2-3 days. See Time Ranges for detailed data availability timelines.
How to Troubleshoot Stale Data
If live data looks stale or outdated:
- Open the Live indicator
- Check whether the sync request is queued or running
- Open Settings > Integrations if a specific provider looks unhealthy
- Review Settings > Logs if the same provider keeps failing
- Try triggering a Manual Sync to force a data refresh
If a provider consistently fails, the integration may need to be disconnected and reconnected. See Sync Troubleshooting for step-by-step resolution guides.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often does MerchantFlow sync data from my store?
Sync frequency depends on your plan and the data source. Shopify and WooCommerce data typically syncs every 30 minutes to 6 hours. Google Analytics, Search Console, and ad platforms have their own processing delays. Check the Integration Health panel for exact sync times per provider.
What does a yellow warning badge on an integration mean?
A yellow warning badge means the integration is connected but encountered a non-critical issue during the last sync, such as a temporary API timeout or rate limit. The next scheduled sync will usually resolve it automatically.
Can I force all integrations to sync at once?
Yes. Open the Live indicator dropdown and click Sync All Integrations. This queues a sync request for every connected provider. Allow several minutes for all syncs to complete.
Why does my data still show yesterday's numbers?
Some data sources have inherent processing delays. Google Analytics 4 data can take 24-48 hours to finalize, and Google Search Console data is typically 2-3 days behind. The most recent day or two may show incomplete data from these sources.
