Daily AI Email Summary
The Daily AI Email Summary in MerchantFlow delivers an AI-generated overview of your e-commerce performance directly to your inbox. Each email summarizes yesterday's key metrics, highlights winning products, flags operational issues, and provides actionable recommendations - all powered by the same AI engine behind Flow AI.
What Is the Daily Email Summary?
The daily email summary aggregates your previous day's performance data and passes it through MerchantFlow's AI to generate a concise, actionable report. Instead of logging into the dashboard every morning, you receive the most important insights before your day starts.
How to Enable the Email Summary
- Go to Settings > Notifications (
/dashboard/settings/notifications) - Toggle "Enable Daily Summary" to ON
- Configure your preferred sections, frequency, and send time
- Click "Save Preferences"
You can preview what the email will look like before enabling it by clicking "Preview".
Configurable Sections
Each section can be toggled on or off independently:
| Section | What It Includes |
|---|---|
| High-Level Metrics | Your key KPIs matched to your North Star Metrics selection, with period-over-period deltas |
| Channel Performance | Per-channel ad spend, revenue, and ROAS breakdown |
| Product Winners | Top-performing products by revenue or margin |
| Operational Alerts | Sync failures, integration warnings, or credential issues |
| Fulfilment Summary | 3PL fulfillment status and cost summary (if SpeedFulfill connected) |
| Retention Snapshot | Customer cohort and retention signals |
| AI Action Items | AI-generated recommended actions based on the day's data |
Profit Accuracy When Fulfillment Data Is Incomplete
If some orders do not yet have real 3PL or fulfillment cost data, MerchantFlow can adjust the email's profit figures with an estimate instead of showing a temporarily inflated profit number.
To enable it:
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Turn on "Estimate missing fulfillment costs"
- Click "Save Preferences"
When enabled, MerchantFlow:
- Uses your store's historical average fulfillment cost per order when enough real fulfillment data exists
- Falls back to your configured percentage-based fulfillment setting if that history is not available yet
- Adds a footnote in the email so recipients know fulfillment was estimated
If you leave this setting off, profit in the email can remain temporarily overstated until fulfillment costs arrive from your 3PL or sync pipeline.
Frequency Options
Choose how often you receive the summary:
- Daily - every day
- Weekday only - Monday through Friday
- Weekly (Monday) - once per week on Monday morning
- Custom days - select specific days of the week
Send Time
Configure the exact time you want to receive the email:
- Set hour and minute
- Set your timezone to ensure correct delivery time
- The email covers the previous calendar day's data in your configured timezone
Additional Recipients
Add CC recipients to share the summary with your team:
- In Settings > Notifications, scroll to "Additional Recipients"
- Enter email addresses
- Save
All recipients receive the same summary email.
How KPIs Are Selected
The High-Level Metrics section automatically uses your North Star Metrics selection. If you have configured Revenue, Net Profit, Blended MER, and AOV as your North Star metrics, those same four KPIs appear in the email with yesterday's values and comparisons.
Viewing Past Summaries
Go to Settings > Notifications > History to view previously sent summaries and their delivery status.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I preview the email before enabling it?
Yes. Click "Preview" on the Settings > Notifications page to see what the email will look like with your current day's data.
What time zone does the summary use?
The summary uses your configured workspace timezone for both the data window (yesterday) and the delivery time.
Why does the email say fulfillment cost was estimated?
When the estimate toggle is enabled and some orders are still missing real fulfillment cost data, MerchantFlow adjusts the profit figures using an estimated fulfillment cost and labels that adjustment in the email.
Does the email include data from all connected integrations?
Yes. The summary pulls from all connected data sources - commerce platform, ad platforms, analytics, and fulfillment - to provide a complete picture.
