Dashboard Setup Guide
The MerchantFlow setup guide is a four-step guided wizard built into the dashboard at /dashboard/setup-guide. It walks you through connecting your store and ad platforms and setting your regional preferences. Use it during initial onboarding or revisit it any time you need to complete a step you previously skipped.
When to Use the Setup Guide
The setup guide is most useful when:
- You started with demo data and want to connect live store and ad platform integrations now
- You skipped a step during onboarding and need to go back and complete it
- A teammate needs a guided path to finish workspace configuration without guessing which settings to configure
What the Setup Guide Covers
The wizard has four steps, shown as a progress bar across the top:
- Choose Path — pick how you want to get started
- Integrations — connect your Shopify or WooCommerce store, and link Google and Meta through their OAuth shortcuts
- Regional — set your Display Currency and Timezone
- Finalize — confirmation that demo data is loaded or the first sync has started, with a Go to Dashboard button
Picking a card on Choose Path advances you automatically. From there, Continue moves you on from Integrations and Save & Finalize commits your regional settings; Back steps you the other way.
Note: The Notification Settings toggles sit at the bottom of the Regional step and are a preview only — they are not saved. Only currency and timezone are written when you click Save & Finalize. Configure real email and alert preferences at Settings > Notifications (
/dashboard/settings/notifications) — see Notifications.
How to Access the Setup Guide
Open the profile menu in the top-right of the dashboard header and choose Support, or go straight to /dashboard/setup-guide. The setup guide is not a persistent checklist — it always opens on the first step, and the work it does (connecting integrations, saving regional settings) is stored on your workspace rather than in the wizard.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I skip the setup guide and configure everything manually?
Yes. Everything the setup guide does is also available from the main Settings pages — Settings > Integrations for connections and the general settings page for currency and timezone. The guide simply provides a structured path through the same options.
How do I switch from demo mode to live data?
Open the setup guide and follow the commerce setup step to connect your live Shopify or WooCommerce store. Once connected, MerchantFlow begins syncing real data and demo data is replaced. See Demo Mode for details.
Does every team member need to complete the setup guide?
No. The integrations and regional settings it configures are workspace-level, not user-level. Once one admin completes the configuration, all team members benefit from the connected integrations and settings.
