Connect Checkout Champ - MerchantFlow
Connect Checkout Champ to MerchantFlow to bring the rebills and membership charges it bills outside your store into your revenue, profit and Subscriptions reporting, without double counting.
Connect Checkout Champ to MerchantFlow
The Checkout Champ integration imports the recurring charges Checkout Champ bills on your behalf -- rebills, membership charges and subscription renewals -- into MerchantFlow, so your revenue, profit and Subscriptions reporting include them.
Why Connect Checkout Champ?
When Checkout Champ runs your checkout, it usually pushes the first sale to your Shopify store as an ordinary order. The renewals that follow are billed inside Checkout Champ and never reach your store. Store-based reporting therefore leaves out every rebill: your revenue is understated, and you cannot see how much of the business repeats each month.
Connecting Checkout Champ adds those charges to MerchantFlow as orders, next to your store orders.
How to Connect Checkout Champ
Open Settings → Integrations and find the Subscriptions section. There is no OAuth redirect; you enter the login of a Checkout Champ API user.
- Create a dedicated API user in Checkout Champ under Admin → Users, with access to the order, purchase and transaction queries. MerchantFlow checks all three when you connect and refuses a user that cannot read one of them.
- Whitelist MerchantFlow's server IP on that API user. Checkout Champ only accepts API requests from whitelisted addresses. If you do not have the address yet, go ahead and connect: Checkout Champ refuses the first attempt, and MerchantFlow's error message names the exact IP to add.
- Enter the API user's login and password in MerchantFlow and click Connect Checkout Champ.
- Confirm your campaigns. MerchantFlow matches recent Checkout Champ orders to the orders already in your store and shows which campaigns sent orders here. Tick the campaigns that belong to this store and click Start import. Nothing is imported until you confirm.
Before the credentials are accepted, MerchantFlow requires that your email is verified and, if your MerchantFlow account has a password, that two-factor authentication is enabled. You do not need MerchantFlow two-factor authentication when you connect from inside your Shopify admin, because Shopify has already signed you in. You also need the integrations:manage permission, which owners and admins have by default.
The integration is available on every plan. The Subscriptions page that reports these charges in detail is part of the Pro and Plus plans.
What Does MerchantFlow Import?
- Recurring charges Checkout Champ never sent to your store, imported as orders numbered
CC-followed by the Checkout Champ order id - First sales Checkout Champ did not push to your store
- Refunds on an imported charge, which update that charge
- Subscription state for each purchase -- trialing, active, paused, retrying payment, cancelled -- used by the Subscriptions page
Abandoned and declined checkouts are ignored: only completed and refunded charges count.
The import is read-only. MerchantFlow never creates, changes or refunds anything in Checkout Champ.
How It Avoids Double Counting
When Checkout Champ pushes a sale to your store, it records the store order number. MerchantFlow uses that to recognise the sale as an order your store already has and skips it, so only the charges your store never received are added.
One Account, Several Stores
A single Checkout Champ account can serve more than one store, with each store selling through its own campaigns. Each store connects the same API user and imports only the campaigns it ticked. A campaign already imported by another store is shown as such and cannot be ticked twice.
Unticking a campaign deletes the charges and subscriptions imported from it from this store, and your reports are recalculated -- so a campaign chosen by mistake leaves nothing behind.
How Imported Charges Are Costed
Each Checkout Champ product is classified once, automatically, and you can change it in the connect card:
- Membership -- a charge for something that is not shipped, such as a free-shipping club. It carries no product cost.
- Store product -- a physical product that ships. It is costed from your COGS like any other order.
A product that turns out to ship is reclassified as a store product automatically. A classification you set by hand is never changed.
Payment fees and refunds are counted either way.
How Renewals Are Treated
Charges from the second billing cycle onwards are renewals. Renewals carry no ad spend: the ad that won the subscriber is charged to their first order. Renewals still count in your total revenue, profit and order counts, and appear on the Subscriptions page and the dashboard's Subscriptions card.
Sync and History
- New charges are imported alongside your store sync, at most every 30 minutes.
- History is imported back to your store's first order, up to three years. Recent charges arrive first; older history fills in over the following syncs.
- Checkout Champ reports times in your account's own timezone. MerchantFlow detects it when you connect, and you can correct it in the connect card.
What Happens If You Disconnect
Disconnecting stops the import. Charges already imported stay in your reports. Reconnecting the same Checkout Champ account picks up where it left off; connecting a different account removes the charges imported from the previous one first, so two accounts' charges are never mixed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the connect card say the IP is not whitelisted?
Checkout Champ rejected the request because MerchantFlow's server address is not on the API user's IP whitelist. The message shows the address Checkout Champ refused; add that IP to the API user in Checkout Champ, then connect again. If a sync later fails for the same reason, the integration's health status says so in the sync health menu and on the connect card.
Will my store orders be counted twice?
No. Sales Checkout Champ pushed to your store are recognised by their store order number and skipped. Only charges your store never received are imported.
Does it work with WooCommerce?
The import matches Checkout Champ sales against the orders in your connected store. It was built and verified with Shopify stores.
